Sleepiness in a child after a fall on the head is characterized by sleepiness, lack of energy, and sleepiness. The child can be awakened by shouting or tapping, but will soon fall back to sleep after these stimuli are removed. In such cases, brain injury is usually considered to be the cause, and there may be intracranial hemorrhage or contusions of brain tissue. Therefore, an examination is necessary and a cranial CT examination is needed as soon as possible to determine the specific diagnosis. If the CT examination is okay, pay attention to good rest and continue to observe, generally after 1-2 days, the symptoms can subside. If there is any problem with the test, active treatment should be carried out according to the test results. If there is intracranial hemorrhage, surgery should be performed to remove the hematoma if the amount is large, and hemostatic drugs should be used to avoid further increase of bleeding if the amount is small. In the case of brain tissue contusion, intravenous fluids should be administered to promote recovery with drugs that reduce swelling and dehydration and nerve nutrition.
