Coma-graded drowsiness

Disorders of consciousness can be classified as drowsiness, somnolence and coma from mild to severe. Coma can be classified as light coma, moderate coma and deep coma. Narcolepsy is not part of the coma classification, and the degree of narcolepsy is much lighter than that of coma. Narcolepsy refers to the early manifestation of impaired consciousness in which the patient shows prolonged sleep but can still be woken up and can barely cooperate with the examination and answer simple questions after waking up, and after stopping the stimulation of the patient, the patient falls asleep again. In contrast, coma cannot be awakened by any kind of strong stimulation. The two cannot be equated at all.
