Rehabilitation after rotator cuff injury

The rotator cuff is a cuff-like muscle-like structure formed by the tendons of the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, subscapularis, and teres minor muscles anterior, superior, and posterior to the humeral head. The rotator cuff musculature is fused into one near the stop of the greater tuberosity of the humerus. The rostro-humeral ligament between the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles on both the deep and superficial sides allows for the strengthening of the rotator cuff linkage. The clinical manifestations of rotator cuff injury are mainly muscle atrophy, dysfunction, pain and pressure pain, and secondary contracture of the joint. The diagnosis can be confirmed by special signs such as shoulder drop test, impingement test, pain arc sign, and intraglenohumeral friction sounds. The rotator cuff muscle group plays a very important role in the stabilization of the shoulder joint. Therefore, it is necessary to restore the function and exercise of the rotator cuff muscle group after a shoulder injury. How to do the training? 1.Lateral lying, shoulder joint external rotation; 2.Prone lying, horizontal abduction; 3.Prone lying, forward flexion to 45°; 4.Elbow flexion, shoulder joint horizontal external rotation; 5.Horizontal external rotation under elastic band resistance; 6.Horizontal abduction under elastic band resistance; 7.Stretching elastic band, horizontal abduction; 8.Lifting and extending the scapula.
