The sudden appearance of bruises on the eyelids may be related to factors such as eye trauma, late night and other eye diseases. 1. Ocular trauma: after the patient’s eye is bumped, squeezed and other traumatic injuries, because of the rupture of small blood vessels under the eyelid skin, subcutaneous bruising can occur, and the patient can also have eyelid swelling, pain and other uncomfortable symptoms. 2. Staying up late: patients with poor local blood circulation due to lack of sleep, causing ischemia and lack of oxygen in the eye tissues, patients may experience bruising of the eyelids, i.e. “dark circles”. 3. Other eye diseases: patients with eye occupying tumors such as hemangioma, orbital tumors and other eye diseases may have bruises on eyelids because of the obstacle of blood supply to the eyes and tortuous expansion of veins. It is recommended that patients with obvious eye bruises and other discomforts should consult a doctor in time to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions.
