The most important thing is to have an anti-viral cream, such as a topical interferon gel, which may have a therapeutic effect, or a topical phthalidone ointment. If the warts are large, you can also apply topical fluorouracil ointment for treatment. If the patient has warts that are still not clear from the use of these creams, they can be removed by some physical therapy, usually by liquid nitrogen freezing or laser treatment, or by surgical excision.
