In addition to traumatic causes such as vaginal injuries that cause blood in women’s leukorrhea, ovulatory bleeding also occurs in women as a symptom of blood in the leukorrhea. Ovulatory bleeding mostly occurs in the middle of two periods or about 14 days before the next menstrual period. Some women experience bleeding during ovulation due to changes in hormone levels, resulting in the shedding of the endometrium. The amount is usually not large and will improve on its own after a day or two. But which diseases can cause blood in the leucorrhea? In brief, there are several cases.
1. Acute vaginitis: Acute vaginitis is an acute infection caused by some pathogens. Vaginitis belongs to a kind of gynecological inflammation and is one of the most common gynecological diseases. Its symptoms manifest themselves in two main categories: leucorrhoea, yellow and vulvar itching. If acute vaginitis is not treated in time, it will increase the possibility of ectopic pregnancy if it turns chronic.
2, cervical polyps: cervical polyps mostly occur in 40 to 60 years old menstruating women. A small number of polyps are characterized by increased leucorrhea, or leucorrhea with blood, or even a small amount of vaginal bleeding, i.e. bloody leucorrhea or contact bleeding, especially after sexual intercourse and when squatting and straining to defecate.
3.Cervical cancer: In the early stage, cervical cancer may not have any symptoms, or only superficial erosion can be seen during vaginal examination, or general chronic inflammation such as a small amount of leucorrhea, and blood in the leucorrhea, etc.
The main clinical manifestations are increased leucorrhoea, mostly yellowish and watery, with odor; the discharge is sometimes bloody, purulent or bleeding in drops.
Blood in the leukorrhea may be caused by four diseases: acute vaginitis, cervical polyps, cervical cancer and senile vaginitis, which are serious threats to people’s health and even life.
