What diseases are seen in female vulvar ulcers?

  Vulvar ulcers in women can be caused not only by lesions of the vulva itself, such as vulvar inflammation and malignancy. Many diseases can cause vulvar inflammation, such as nonspecific vulvovaginitis, herpes simplex virus infection, soft chancre, venereal lymphogranuloma, syphilis, vulvar tuberculosis, and leukoaraiosis, and vulvar ulcers can develop during the development of these diseases. About 1/3 of vulvar cancers also present with vulvar ulcers at the early stage of the lesion. Therefore, vulvar ulcers are mostly the manifestation of systemic diseases in the vulva, especially some sexually transmitted diseases have vulvar ulcers as the first symptom.
