Do babies with fever need to go to the hospital?

In recent months, 90% of the outpatient clinics have been filled with fever patients; many parents drag their tired bodies to the hospital 2 or 3 times a day with the sole purpose of helping their babies to reduce their fever. Is it really necessary? In my recent outpatient observations, I found that most of the fevers in the past month or so were upper respiratory tract infections caused by simple viral infections, which usually have a fever process of 3-4 days. In simple terms, if you can control your baby’s temperature below 38 degrees with oral antipyretics, you don’t need to come to the hospital, but the effect of antipyretics can only last for 6-8 hours, and the temperature will recur after the effect wears off. When do I need to come to the hospital? Generally speaking, if you have a high fever (temperature 39 degrees) with chills (cold bouts) or a severe cough or shortness of breath, you should go to the hospital because the former may develop into convulsions and the latter may develop into pneumonia.
