Nasal congestion and pain in the brow suggest the possibility of acute septal sinusitis. Acute septal sinusitis may be triggered by a variety of factors, the two most common pathogens being bacteria and viruses. When these two microorganisms attack the sinuses, especially when they adversely affect the septal sinuses, they can produce more severe clinical symptoms and also involve other structures in pain, with the brow and cheekbones being common locations of action.
