What’s wrong with sleeping with a sore eye?

Eye pain during sleep may be caused by visual fatigue, conjunctivitis, glaucoma, acute lacrimitis and other factors.
1. Visual fatigue: Playing cell phone or watching computer excessively at night before going to bed may cause visual fatigue, and the symptoms of eye pain will appear in bed, which is only mild pain and can be relieved by itself after reasonable rest.
2. Conjunctivitis: Acute bacterial conjunctivitis or allergic conjunctivitis can suddenly attack at night, which will cause pain in the eyes while sleeping, and may be accompanied by redness and tearing and other symptoms.
3. Glaucoma: Acute attack of glaucoma can cause eye pain, which is quite severe and may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, red eyes, headache and other symptoms.
4. Acute dacryoadenitis: usually associated with viral or bacterial infections, an acute attack can occur at night, which can cause eye pain and may be accompanied by swelling, redness, fever and other symptoms.
There are many other reasons for eye pain during sleep, and when the pain is more severe or accompanied by other clinical manifestations, it is recommended to go to the ophthalmology department of the hospital for diagnosis and treatment.
