Children 38 ℃ is considered fever. The normal body temperature in the human armpit is between 36℃-37.2℃, beyond this range is fever, so a child’s body temperature of 38℃ belongs to low fever. Clinically, according to the degree of fever, fever is generally divided into four types: the first is low fever, the patient’s body temperature is between 37.3 ℃ – 38 ℃. The second type is moderate fever, in which the patient’s body temperature is between 38.1°C and 39°C. The third type is high fever, in which the patient’s body temperature is between 38.1°C and 39°C. The third type is hyperthermia, where the patient’s body temperature is between 39.1°C-41°C. The fourth type is hyperthermia in which the patient’s body temperature is consistently above 41°C. If the child’s body temperature is 38℃, it can be clinically diagnosed as low fever. If the child is in good spirits, physical cooling can be carried out first, such as putting warm wet towels on the forehead, soaking the feet with hot water, drinking more warm water, and taking oral antipyretic drugs for treatment if necessary. If the child’s temperature drops and he/she is in good spirits, he/she can be observed at home. If the temperature continues to rise or if the fever recurs, the child needs to be seen by a pediatrician in a timely manner. Parents should monitor their child’s temperature regularly during a fever, usually measuring the axillary temperature when the child is in a quiet state, as it may not be accurate after a meal or strenuous exercise.
