Infectious molluscum contagiosum, commonly known as a water wart, can be cured in adults by pinching off the molluscum contagiosum with a hemostat. If you have a child with poor compliance, you can use 35% hydroxyacetic acid to treat the wart with a toothpick, and the molluscum contagiosum will fall off naturally, leaving no pigmentation or scarring.
