The symptoms of nevus of Ota are mainly changes in skin color, which is a pigmented lesion. Many patients begin with no color change in the facial skin and only have abnormalities in the eyelids, i.e. pigmented changes in the sclera of the eyes. In some patients, pigmentary changes in the facial skin are visible 2-3 months after birth, and in some patients, pigmentary changes in the skin may appear more than 10 years later. If nevus of Ota is found in children, early treatment is recommended and can effectively prevent the spread of nevus of Ota.
