At present, there are hundreds of intelligence testing methods in the world, such as testing the comprehensive ability of children, and also testing a single ability, such as language, movement, etc. In addition, there are also tests of children’s creative ability. In recent years, infant and toddler intelligence tests have been carried out more widely in China, and are commonly used in two categories: screening and diagnostic intelligence tests. Screening intelligence tests are a relatively simple, fast and economical method. In a relatively short period of time, children with growth or intellectual problems can be screened. The following screening tests are commonly used: ① Denver Developmental Scale for Infants (DDST for short), which covers four areas of personal-social adjustment, fine motor, language and gross motor skills, with 104 items, and is suitable for children from newborns to 6 years old. ②Picture Man Test: It is suitable for children aged 5 to 9 years old. ③Picture Vocabulary Test: It is a test book with 120 pictures, each of which consists of 4 pictures, one of which represents a vocabulary word. It can measure children’s ability to understand vocabulary. It is suitable for children from 4 to 9 years old. In addition, there is the Preschool Aptitude Test for children aged 4 to 7 years old, which assesses whether a child is eligible for school. Those who are screened for problems may be given diagnostic tests, after which IQ or developmental quotient can be derived. Commonly used diagnostic tests include the Gesell Infant Developmental Scale, Bayley Infant Developmental Scale, Stanford-Binet Scale, Wechsler Preschooler Scale, and Wechsler School-Age Child Scale, among others.
