Do you know what to do after cataract surgery?

Dear patients, modern cataract surgery is very delicate, the incision is only a few millimeters, and proper postoperative care will definitely reduce the incidence of surgical complications. The following are the precautions you should take after surgery, please read them carefully.

1. Please do not open the gauze or eye patch covering your eye on the day after surgery.

Third, postoperative daily life is usually not affected, but you should avoid strenuous exercise, trauma, collision, coughing, vomiting, rubbing your eyes or squeezing them hard, wrestling, constipation, extracting heavy objects, etc., which may cause bleeding or wound dehiscence.

Fourth, medication should be administered on time after surgery according to medical advice. The method of ordering eye medication is as follows.

(i) Please clean and dry your hands first.

(b) Use a lying or sitting position.

(c) Tilt your head back slightly and use your index finger to pull the lower eyelid apart.

(iv) Look upward with your eyes and dab eye drops or apply eye ointment with the other hand.

(v) Release the lower eyelid, gently close the eyes, and rest for 3 to 5 minutes.

(v) One week after surgery, register at the ophthalmology clinic for a follow-up examination. At the follow-up appointment, please bring back the medication you are using now for the doctor to decide whether to renew, reduce, stop or change the medication.

Do not allow dirty water or soapy water to enter the eye within four weeks after surgery, and do not apply pressure to the operated eye.

Please note the following in your daily life

(a) Be cheerful and ensure sleep.

(2) Avoid excessive use of eyes and prevent visual fatigue.

(C) Nutritional balance, strengthen the body, prevent colds and upper respiratory tract infections.

(iv) Eat more vegetables and fruits, avoid spicy and stimulating or too hard food, keep bowel movements smooth

(e) Wash your hair please go to the beauty salon lying down to wash your hair, if your eyes are stained by water splashing, please go home immediately to order medicine.

(F) After surgery, lie down flat or on your side (to the non-operated side), avoid strenuous head movement, do not hold your breath or sneeze hard, and try to lower your head as little as possible.

(g) Please wear wind and dust-proof glasses or UV-proof glasses when you go out on sandy or sunny days.

(H) According to your preoperative and intraoperative conditions, the recovery time of vision varies after surgery, generally 3 months after surgery, according to the refractive state of prescription, please consult the follow-up physician if you have special needs for early prescription.

If you have any of the following conditions after surgery, please make sure to consult your doctor promptly.

(a) sudden decrease in visual acuity.

(ii) Significant eye pain, even accompanied by headache, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms.

(c) A lot of eye discharge.

(iv) Stinging, redness and constant watering of the eyes.

(X) If there is no special discomfort, you should also review once in 1 to 3 days, 1 week, 4 weeks and 3 months after surgery.
