Cataract and glaucoma post-operative problems

Patient: Description (onset time, main symptoms, hospital visited, etc.): Hello Professor Wang, my father is 69 years old and had cataract surgery on his right eye in April this year and glaucoma surgery on his right eye in August, his eyesight has recovered after the surgery, but both eyes have been dry and tearful and cannot be opened, his forehead is swollen and tight, he is dizzy and his head is slightly painful. My father has mild hypertension and has been taking medication to control his blood pressure normally, and it has been half a year since the surgery on both eyes, and the tests have been done and eye medication is being ordered. The dryness, tearing, blurriness, inability to open, and dizziness of the eyes are seriously hindering my life, so I would like to ask Professor Wang for advice and hope that he can help me.

Wang Jun, Cataract Center, Beijing Tongren Hospital: Hello! If cataract and glaucoma surgery goes well, all eye medications can be stopped in about one month after surgery. Longer use of eye medication can also trigger some symptoms such as dryness and blurring of the eyes. It is recommended to stop using the medication for a period of time and to insist on taking the antihypertensive medication.
