The time that patients with meniscal cysts can walk after surgical treatment is related to the surgical approach; for patients with simple meniscectomy, weight-bearing walking on the affected limb is routinely started 1 to 2 weeks after surgery, followed by a gradual increase in activity.
For patients with meniscus sutures, the affected limb should be fixed with a brace for 4-6 weeks after surgery, and then you can walk with crutches without full weight bearing, and you can usually walk with full weight bearing about 8 weeks after surgery.
