Do cruciate ligament injuries require surgical treatment?

After a traumatic knee injury, if the swelling and pain are severe, there is a 70% chance of a cruciate ligament injury. It is recommended to visit a hospital and perform an MR examination if necessary to confirm the condition, and once the injury is confirmed, early reconstructive surgery of the cruciate ligament is recommended. Once the cruciate ligament is injured, surgical reconstruction should be performed unless the stop point avulsion fracture can be repaired. Because the cruciate ligament is a stable structure of the knee joint, after the injury, the stability is poor, so the friction is large, for example, after the injury, the amount of knee activity for one day is at least equivalent to the normal knee activity for 5 days, so the joint wears faster than the normal knee, and the knee joint is lax, some patients will have a sense of fear. You will be able to walk on the ground with a brace on the second day, and we will have a dedicated sports medicine rehabilitation center staff to come to your bedside for rehabilitation. However, it may take 3-6 months to return to normal exercise.
