Can gene diagnosis technology diagnose gynecological diseases?

According to data released by the World Health Organization (WHO), 40% of Chinese women suffer from various degrees of reproductive tract infections, and it is estimated that at least 200 million women suffer from reproductive tract infections and related diseases in China each year. Reproductive tract infections account for more than 55% of obstetrics and gynecology outpatients, resulting in medical costs of more than 20 billion yuan per year. Gynecological infections lead to serious consequences such as adnexitis, cervicitis, cervical erosion, infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome, ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. There are many causes of gynecological infections, including various bacteria, mycobacteria, mycoplasma, chlamydia, viruses, etc. At present, genetic diagnosis by PCR technology can be performed for Mycoplasma solium, Chlamydia trachomatis, human papilloma virus HPV 6,11 associated with condyloma, high-risk HPV virus combination type 8, combination type 13 and 26 typing tests highly associated with cervical cancer, as well as genetic diagnosis items such as syphilis spirochetes and gonococci. PCR gene diagnosis technology has the characteristics of high sensitivity, high reliability, easy to take materials, multiple tests at one time, which can provide a rapid and accurate definitive diagnosis basis for gynecological infectious diseases, and is one of the gold standards for the diagnosis of gynecological infectious diseases, indicating the direction for the later treatment.
