Patients with painful roots and loose teeth may suspect a longitudinal root fracture. In the early stages of longitudinal root fracture, the tooth may become irritated and painful, while in the later stages, spontaneous pain and chewing pain may occur, accompanied by swollen gums and loose teeth.
