How long can you live with advanced cancer with blood in the stool?

The presence of blood in the stool in advanced cancer suggests possible GI invasion and possibly a short survival. However, it depends on the treatment of the primary tumor and metastatic lesions, if the survival is more than 3-6 months or longer, it is also possible. If the bleeding in stool can be stopped and the appropriate application of anti-tumor therapy with increased nutrition can prolong the survival period. Therefore, we cannot judge how long we can live by blood in stool alone, but we need to understand the change of the degree of the disease in the process of treatment. Some malignant tumors, such as rectal malignant tumor or colon malignant tumor in advanced stage, may have blood in stool, which is mainly caused by the growth of local lesions breaking down, and can apply drugs to stop bleeding, as well as radiotherapy, chemotherapy or targeted therapy for local lesions, which can relieve symptoms.
