The use of indocin during menstruation does not necessarily stop bleeding. Indocin is used to stop bleeding by promoting contraction of the uterus and facilitating the discharge of menstrual blood. However, there are times, such as abnormal uterine function bleeding or the presence of heavy bleeding, when it is possible that the hemostasis may not be completely stopped by the administration of contractions. It is possible that oral hemostatic drugs, such as hemostatic pellets or Yunnan Baiyao, or even hormones may have to be used to stop the bleeding. For example, for women before the age of 40, it is recommended to stop bleeding with a short-acting oral contraceptive such as Daing-35, but the oral dose is relatively high, and women over 40 may need to stop bleeding with a progestin such as gynecomastia tablets. If the bleeding is particularly heavy, it may also be necessary to stop the bleeding through diagnostic surgery to treat the bleeding.
