Do meniscus and cruciate ligament injuries need early treatment?

Many of my friends ask me, “Do meniscus and cruciate ligament injuries need to be treated early?” According to a large number of arthroscopic observation studies on meniscus and cruciate ligament injuries with old injuries, the answer is yes, meniscus and cruciate ligament injuries need to be seen and treated early. The reasons are: One, many fresh meniscus injuries can be sutured, time delayed meniscus can not be sutured, can only be removed, very unfortunate! It is important to know that meniscus is not renewable. Second, meniscus and cruciate ligament injuries that go untreated for a long time can lead to secondary injuries – wear and tear of the knee cartilage, exfoliation, and sometimes large cartilage surface defects can be seen arthroscopically, and the cartilage is also non-renewable, which directly shortens the life of the joint! It is recommended that friends with knee injuries, swelling and pain go to a specialist as early as possible, and that they do an MRI early if they suspect meniscal or ligament damage. Problems can be treated promptly.
