How to treat common warts?

The common wart (verruca vulgaris) is known in Chinese medicine as a “thousand day sore”, commonly known as a “wart”, “wart”, etc. It is caused by infection with the human papilloma virus. It is caused by infection with the human papilloma virus; plantar warts (verruca plantaris) are common warts that occur on the soles of the feet. The treatment of common warts and plantar warts, there are many methods used, but the efficacy is not certain, and cryotherapy, electrocautery, laser treatment is only applicable to a small number of common warts and plantar warts, common warts can be surgically removed, but after surgery is often prone to recurrence, many patients even with deep destructive treatment methods, 1/3 warts will still recur [1]. The author has been using acupuncture in the treatment of common warts 147 cases and plantar warts 69 cases since 2001, the cure rate reached 100%, the recurrence rate is 0, the efficacy is very satisfactory, and during the treatment, the patient pain is less compared to other methods, does not affect their daily life, is reported as follows. I. Clinical data 216 patients are from our dermatology clinic. All cases met the diagnostic criteria for common warts and plantar warts in the 3rd edition of Clinical Dermatology, edited by Zhao Jian. Among them, 119 cases were male and 97 cases were female, aged 6-87 years old, with an average age of 31 years, and the disease duration ranged from 1 month to 5 years. The lesions were located on the fingers, palms, extremities, unilateral soles or bilateral soles. The number was 1-81. The warts were rice grain to bean in size, with clear boundaries. They were scattered or aggregated into patches, and most had pressure pain. All patients had no serious visceral disease and had received no other treatment within 1 month. II. Treatment Treatment was given once a week for 30 minutes for 3 times. The first one is a small wart, but the second one is a small wart. From the first treatment, observe for 3 months to determine the efficacy. Third, the results of treatment 1, efficacy determination: the efficacy is judged within 3 months after treatment. It was formulated with reference to the Diagnostic Efficacy Criteria for Chinese Medical Evidence [2] issued by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Cured: complete regression of lesions, no new rash; effective: regression of lesions up to 70% or more, no new rash; improved: regression of lesions 30% -70% or less; ineffective: no change in lesions or regression of less than 30% or new warts appear. 2, the results: 216 patients, after 3 times treatment, 97 cases within a month the lesions completely regressed, another 41 cases of lesions regressed 30% -70% or less; within 2 months a total of 187 cases of lesions completely regressed, another 29 cases of lesions regressed 30% -7% or less; within 3 months the lesions are all regressed, the total efficiency rate of 100%. The total effective rate was 100%. No recurrence was seen in more than 1 year after treatment, and the recurrence rate was 0. 3. Adverse reactions: 3 patients had palpitations, pallor, sweating and other dizziness during treatment, but they recovered quickly after resting slightly and drinking appropriate sugar water. The author was treated with the above methods for 43 days and the lesions all subsided. At 2.5 years follow-up, no recurrence was observed. The relevant pictures are shown in Figure 01, 02, 03. 2, Quan x, male, 28 years old, teacher, left hand metacarpal surface of the metacarpophalangeal joint of a soy-sized warts, surface keratinization rough, hard, spine-like material elevated, gray-yellow, round, consciously painful to touch, the course of more than 2 years. The author was treated with the above methods for 58 days and the lesions all disappeared. Follow-up for 2.5 years, no recurrence was observed. The relevant pictures are shown in Figure 04, 05. 3, Yang × ×, female, 6 years old, students, the left foot heel base of a soy-sized warts, surface keratinization rough, hard, spike-like material elevated, gray-yellow, round, consciously painful to touch, the course of more than 2 months. The author was treated with the above methods for 39 days and the lesions all subsided. Follow-up for 2.5 years, no recurrence was observed. The relevant pictures are shown in Figure 06, 07. 4, Hu × ×, male, 21 years old, students, left foot metatarsal a soy-sized warts, surface keratinization rough, hard, spike-like material elevated, gray-yellow, round, consciously painful to touch, the course of more than 1 year. The author was treated with the above methods for 47 days and the lesions all subsided. Follow-up for 2.5 years, no recurrence was observed. The relevant pictures are shown in Figure 08, 09. 5, Ding × ×, female, 23 years old, students, the right foot metatarsal 5 soy-sized warts, surface keratinization rough, hard, spike-like material elevated, gray-yellow, round, consciously painful to touch, the course of more than 1 year. The author’s treatment by the Qi prick method 54 days, the lesions all subside. Follow-up for 2.5 years, no recurrence was observed. The relevant pictures are shown in Figure 10 and 11. V. Discussion The mechanism of acupuncture treatment of common warts and plantar warts is not very clear. The purpose of treatment. Foreign data reported that the treatment of common warts with topical stimulant drugs has some efficacy and is thought to be due to the immune phenomenon of drugs promoting antigen release [3]. Domestic research data illustrate that acupuncture can alter the specific or nonspecific humoral and cellular immune functions of the body, with therapeutic effects such as anti-inflammatory and antiviral. Studies of patients with the disease have found that more than half of the patients have specific antibodies, which increase with the shedding of warts. It has been suggested that acupuncture is a stimulus for warts and viruses, resulting in the release of viral antigens and wart cell antigens, leading to an antigen-antibody reaction that produces specific antiviral and anti-wart cell antibodies that heal the warts [4]. Because this method does not appear blisters, erosions, ulcers and other wounds during the treatment process, it causes much less pain than other treatment methods and does not affect their normal life; the warts fall off on their own after treatment, leaving no scar; the method has a high cure rate and low recurrence. In summary, the method is very worth promoting.
