How much is a dental cleaning in hospital

The cost of hospital scaling is about two to three hundred dollars for a simple ultrasonic scaling, and about a thousand dollars for a subgingival scaling and medication. The cost of hospital scaling depends on the tartar distribution of teeth. Tartar is the soft tartar formed around the teeth when food residues are not brushed and rinsed in time after eating, which calcifies and forms tartar under the action of saliva. Tartar is divided into supragingival tartar and subgingival tartar. Supragingival tartar is visible to the naked eye and adheres to the tooth surface above the gums, pressing on the gums causing them to become red, swollen and bleeding, and overflowing thickly. It needs to be removed by ultrasonic shock and then polished (i.e., simply scaled), which is the most basic periodontal treatment. Subgingival tartar is tartar that is attached below the gums and on the surface of the tooth roots, invisible to the naked eye, and is extremely harmful to the teeth, easily leading to fracture of periodontal fibers, destructive resorption of alveolar bone, and tooth loss. Subgingival tartar is difficult to remove by ultrasound alone and requires subgingival scraping to remove it. After scraping, root leveling is required to prevent tartar from reattaching. Subgingival scaling requires manual removal of tartar, and after scaling, a peri-gingival rinse with medication is required, so the cost is more expensive. So for a simple scaling, the cost is about two to three hundred dollars per scaling; for a subgingival scaling and medication, the cost is about a thousand dollars.
