What to take for bacterial colds

In Western medicine, antibiotics are preferred for bacterial colds, while in Chinese medicine, the main purpose of treating the disease is to regulate its own state by relieving the symptoms and dispersing the cold and dispersing the wind, cold and dampness. Antibiotics will destroy the cell wall or interfere with the formation of proteins, etc., so as to have the effect of anti-bacterial infection, commonly used antibiotics are penicillin, cephalosporins, macrolides, quinolones, etc.. Penicillins are used as the drugs of choice, and amoxicillin is one of the commonly used drugs. Cephalosporins have one generation, two generations, three generations and four generations, of which the third generation is the most widely used, with long half-life and obvious effect on Gram-positive cocci, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia and Legionella. The representative drugs are ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, etc. Macrolides are mainly erythromycin class of drugs, for mycoplasma, chlamydia infection caused by the disease. The quinolones are a newer class of synthetic antibacterial drugs with a broad antibacterial spectrum, strong antibacterial ability, good oral absorption, high tissue concentration, no cross-resistance with other antibacterial drugs, and fewer adverse reactions. It is commonly used in Chinese medicine for wind-cold colds with cough. Mulberry Ju Drink is mostly used for wind-heat colds with cough. For colds caused by dryness that injures the lungs, you can take Mulberry-Apricot Soup or Apricot-Su San. Unlike Western medicine, which mainly chooses antibiotic drugs, Chinese medicine does not have bacteria, and Chinese medicine treats the symptoms with evidence.
