What does a sinus mycobacterium ball look like?

With the change in environmental climate, there is a high incidence of sinus mycosis (fungal) sinusitis, and patients often have headaches and pus. Sometimes there is nasal congestion. Since fungal balls are often located deep in the sinuses of the nose, it is usually very difficult to see the real face. Today we received a case of fungal bulb type pterygoid sinusitis in a middle-aged female from Zhejiang province, and we used the endoscopic camera system to completely record the classic process of finding the fungal bulb through the narrow and hidden pterygoid sinus opening until after cleaning the fungal bulb, and share it with our friends. 1, the microscope system, through the hidden, has been slightly enlarged pterygoid sinus mouth, found the right side of the pterygoid sinus seems to have something like cotton ball, obviously different from the pink mucosa color; 2, the mirror into the sinus cavity found fungal ball, occupying about 1/2 of the volume of the sinus cavity, the surface like cotton, are snow white mycelium; 3, in the removal of the anterior wall of the pterygoid sinus, completely exposed the mycelium ball, see its surface covered with white long mycelium, and its internal is brown cheese. 4.After bottom cleaning of the mycobacteria, it was seen that the pterygoid sinus was clean. The patient was discharged with relief of headache after surgery.
