What a malignant mole looks like

Malignant moles may be larger, have an uneven distribution of color, be surrounded by satellite moles, and have a broken or bleeding surface appearance.
1. Larger diameter. If the diameter of a mole is larger than 0.5 centimeter, the chance of malignant transformation is greater than that of a mole with a small diameter.
2. Uneven color distribution. If the pigmentation of a mole is unevenly distributed, with a big difference between dark and light colors, you need to suspect malignant changes.
3. Satellite moles. If a mole is surrounded by smaller moles, you should also be aware of malignant changes.
4. Surface rupture or bleeding. If the surface of a mole suddenly breaks down and bleeds, there is a suspicion of malignancy.
If a pigmented mole is suspected to be malignant, it is necessary to consult a dermatologist in time.
