The difference between pediatric wind-heat cold and wind-cold cold

  Wind-heat colds are mainly caused by constipation, and children become constipated for two days and then have a sore throat for a day or two, followed by cold symptoms; while wind-cold colds are usually caused by exertion, lack of rest, and wind or cold.  Wind-heat cold mostly occurs in the warm season, such as spring, early summer and early autumn, the symptoms are: heavy fever, light chill, sweating or less sweating, headache and nasal congestion, sore throat, red tongue, fast pulse, etc. The common treatment for wind-heat cold is pungent and cool, commonly used Chinese medicine such as pediatric hot quick clear oral liquid and pediatric cold granules. Preventive measures are to drink more water, eat more fruits and vegetables, and prevent constipation.  Wind-cold cold mostly occurs in cold seasons, such as winter, late autumn and early spring, and is a disease caused by feeling cold evil. The symptoms of wind-cold cold are light fever, heavy cold, no sweating, headache and body pain, runny nose, cough, no redness and swelling in the throat, light red tongue, and floating and tight pulse. The treatment for wind-cold cold is to use pungent warmth to relieve the symptoms, and the commonly used Chinese medicine is Pediatric Zhi Bao Wan and so on. Preventive measures are to keep warm and improve immunity, or you can take preventive injections in advance.  We should pay attention to keep the indoor air circulation, let the baby drink more water, add clothes at the right time, eat more fruits and vegetables to increase the child’s resistance and reduce or avoid the occurrence of colds.
