How long does a malignant bladder tumor usually live if it can be cured?

How long a malignant bladder tumor can live depends on when the tumor occurs and is detected, the type of tumor and the stage, which may be months, years or even decades. Bladder tumor is a common malignant tumor in the urinary system. If the malignant bladder tumor is found early and is non-muscle invasive, the five-year survival rate is greater than 80% and the 10-year survival rate is greater than 50% through transurethral bladder tumor electrosurgery in most patients. However, for advanced malignant tumors that present with invasion or distant metastases to sites such as the prostate, rectum, or uterine adnexa, patient survival may be only six months to a year. Patients with malignant bladder tumors have different treatment means at different stages. Generally, for patients with intermediate to advanced stages, total bladder resection is recommended to prevent metastases as a way to prolong survival and improve patients’ quality of life.
