ADHD treatment methods

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), also known as hyperactivity disorder, is a group of syndromes of attention deficit, hyperactivity and impulsive capriciousness that can be accompanied by learning difficulties. It is often characterized by distractibility, inattention, impulsivity, poor self-control, hyperactivity, fidgeting, and learning difficulties. The prevalence rate of school-age children is 3%-5%, and the ratio of male to female is (4-9):1. Children with ADHD need a combination of psychosocial intervention, behavior management training and medication by teachers, parents and doctors to achieve good treatment results. 1. Psychosocial interventions: methods such as explanation, guidance, comfort and encouragement are used to communicate and educate the affected child to help understand the disorder and its impact on learning, behavior, self-esteem social skills or family functioning. Improve the child’s relationship with family, classmates, teachers, etc., reduce destructive behavior, increase self-confidence and the ability to complete homework independently. 2.Behavior modification training: Take targeted individual or group training methods for continuous training and establish corrective principles. Positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement can be combined. Positive reinforcement is to reward the child’s behavior when it reaches the desired goal, so that good behavior can be sustained. Negative reinforcement means that the child suffers the consequences when his behavior does not reach the goal. Behavior training can also be used to eliminate the method, that is, parents and teachers of the child’s bad behavior to ignore, so that the behavior is not noticed for a long time and gradually fade. 3, medication: is an effective means of ADHD, commonly used central nervous stimulant and non-central nervous stimulant drugs to improve the main symptoms of attention deficit, hyperactivity / impulsivity.
