Baihui point with Sishencong for cervical vertigo

  Cervical vertigo is a kind of multi-infarct and common disease. It is caused by chronic strain on the cervical muscles due to long-term ambulatory work and an uncoordinated state of the neck muscles, and physiological changes in the cervical spine as we age. The degeneration of intervertebral discs, displacement of the cervical spine, and osteophytes produce compression and strain on the surrounding soft tissues, and inflammation stimulates the sympathetic nerve in the upper cervical area, resulting in spasmodic constriction of the vertebral-basilar artery and reduced blood supply and vertigo. Insufficient medulla oblongata results in brain spinning and tinnitus, tibial acidity and vertigo, no vision, and slackness and rest.” From the etiology of the disease, although there are phlegm and turbidity blocking, Qi and blood deficiency, and liver and kidney deficiency, the root of the problem is the deficiency of the medulla oblongata, which is the evidence of deficiency of the root and the symptoms.  In clinical practice, we have used the Baihui point with Si Shen Cong to treat cervical vertigo with good results.  Both points are located at the top of the head, and Baihui is the meeting point of the three Yang meridians of the hands and feet and the Directing Vessel, which is the meeting point of all the Yang. The acupuncture points are located on the line of the Directing Vessel, and the left and right points are close to the bladder meridian, which can unblock and regulate many of the body’s meridians, invigorate Yang energy, and encourage positive energy. The five acupuncture points are used together to stimulate the brain in multiple directions and in a large area, enhancing its efficacy in unblocking and regulating the House of the Gods.  The Baihui point with Si Shen Cong not only treats cervical vertigo, but also has a good effect on insomnia and headaches.
