Warts are benign growths caused by human papillomavirus infection of the skin and mucous membranes, commonly common warts, plantar warts, flat warts and genital warts. The actual warts can be eradicated by means of physical therapy, topical medication, and systemic medication depending on the condition of the wart, but some warts are recurring and may not be completely eradicated.
1. Physical therapy: electric cauterization, freezing, laser and scraping methods can be used.
2. topical medication: flat warts can use 0.05%~0.1% retinoic acid ointment; flat warts and common warts 5% can use imiquimod ointment. The common medication is also fluorouracil ointment, but the drug can not be used on the face, may cause residual hyperpigmentation. This method is suitable for patients who are not suitable for physical therapy.
3. Systemic medication: There is no effective anti-HPV (human papillomavirus) therapeutic drug, but interferon, levamisole and other immunomodulators can be used.
The symptoms of warts should be timely medical treatment, standardized treatment under the guidance of the doctor, specific treatment to follow the doctor’s orders.
