Treatment of the disease is mainly conservative, especially for patients with mild symptoms and a short course of the disease, conservative treatment (including life management, physiotherapy, medication, etc.) is preferred. For patients for whom conservative treatment is ineffective, minimally invasive spinal techniques, particularly percutaneous spinal endoscopy, can be considered as appropriate, depending on the patient’s age, severity of the condition, location of the herniated disc and other factors that may indicate minimally invasive surgical treatment. For some patients with severe conditions that are difficult to treat with minimally invasive techniques, open surgery may be considered.
