How to treat respiratory tract infection in babies

It is recommended that a baby’s respiratory tract infection is usually a viral infection, which will stop automatically after it has developed to a certain extent. There is no most effective antiviral medicine, so it is recommended to observe minor viral infections, drink more water during the onset, and pay attention to rest and maintain a reasonable light diet and nutrition, and the observation will naturally resolve in about a week. Recommendation 2 If your baby has a high fever that does not go away and is in a poor state of mind, accompanied by a cough and thick sputum, parents should promptly send him/her to the hospital to check the blood count and some inflammatory indicators to see if the respiratory tract infection is combined with a bacterial infection. If it is clear that there is a bacterial infection, antibiotic drugs can be used appropriately under the guidance of the doctor. Recommendation 2 Many parents have a misconception that antibiotics are used as soon as the baby gets a cold, which leads to the abuse of antibiotics. One should be aware of the dangers of antibiotics, many of which can become resistant after a long period of time, easily leading to the possibility that when the baby is given the next phase of medication, it may not be effective! Currently, there is hardly an antibiotic that is not resistant. Therefore, for the sake of your baby’s health, it is important to decide whether antibiotics can be used after a doctor’s examination, and antibiotics should be used more carefully for simple viral infections.
