Finger joint pain is commonly associated with arthritis of the fingers, either singly or involving multiple joints, with progressive worsening of pain and limited joint movement in severe patients; rheumatoid arthritis causes finger joint pain often in symmetrical episodes, and a perennial history of the disease can also include rheumatoid nodule formation and finger joint deformity.
