What’s going on with end-sit breathing

Sitting breathing refers to a state in which the patient is forced into a sitting or semi-recumbent position in order to alleviate respiratory distress. Telescopic breathing is a forced position, also known as forced sitting. Sitting breathing in patients with cardiac insufficiency can increase blood storage in the lower extremities, reduce the amount of blood returned to the heart, reduce the burden on the heart, and reduce the symptoms of cardiac insufficiency. This is a more serious manifestation of heart failure, and the presence of seated breathing suggests that heart failure has significant pulmonary stasis. It is recommended to seek timely medical treatment for the primary cause, to remove the triggering factors and improve cardiac function.
