The speed of recovery from a fracture after an injury is related to the patient’s age, the type of fracture and other factors.
Children and adolescents have a high metabolism and generally recover well in 1 to 2 months through treatment. Adults undergoing treatment can usually achieve healing three months after surgery. Older patients take longer, usually three months or more. Fractures with displacement take relatively longer to heal compared to stable fractures and regular follow-up appointments and appropriate rehabilitation under medical supervision can speed up the recovery time.
