Do breast cysts need treatment?

Breast cysts are divided into simple cysts and cumulus cysts. Both are benign lesions covered with a thin layer of epithelial tissue, and the contents of the cyst are mostly liquid, with echogenic nodules on ultrasound. Simple cysts of the breast are mainly benign lesions due to ovarian dysfunction. Breast cysts are formed due to ovarian dysfunction in patients, with reduced secretion of luteinizing hormone and increased secretion of estrogen in the body, resulting in proliferation and shedding of the breast epithelium, causing a high degree of expansion of the lobular ducts and terminal breast ducts, with cystic changes. Clinically, simple cysts in the breast can be self-limiting, and the lesions can stop after three years or more, but sometimes they can continue and eventually lead to cancer, but the chance of occurrence is very small.
