It is a limited acute purulent inflammation of the hair follicles, sebaceous glands or sweat glands of the nasal vestibule, occasionally occurring at the tip of the nose. The disease can be caused by 1. digging or trauma; 2. secondary to chronic vestibular inflammation; 3. diabetic or low resistance susceptible to the disease Clinical manifestations: general discomfort or low fever, local inflammatory symptoms such as redness, swelling, heat, pain, etc. Early onset: bean-like bulge in the nasal vestibule, surrounding tissues are hard and red due to infiltration, local throbbing pain, obvious tenderness during examination, yellow pus spots appear on the top of the bean-like bulge after the boil matures. When the boil matures, a yellow pus spot appears on the top of the bean-shaped bump, and then it breaks down and pus flows out, and the pain is then relieved. In severe cases, it can lead to cellulitis of the upper lip and cheek, which is characterized by redness, swelling, heat and pain of the ipsilateral upper lip, cheek and lower lid, often accompanied by general discomfort, chills, high fever and headache. Complications: Improperly treated nasal boils can cause serious intracranial complications —- cavernous sinus thrombophlebitis. The boil is immature: physical therapy such as hot compresses, ultrashort wave, infrared light, etc.; 2. If the boil is mature, avoid squeezing. The boil should be cleaned and drained locally after rupture, and antimicrobial ointment should be applied to the rupture; 4. Those with combined cavernous sinus infection should be admitted to hospital immediately, and high-dose antimicrobial agents should be used and ophthalmology assistance should be requested. Prevention: Prevention is the main focus, quit bad habits such as nose picking and nose hair plucking, actively treat nasal and nasal cavity diseases, avoid harmful dust stimulation, and actively treat diabetic patients to stabilize blood sugar.
