Eugenics, oral health should not be ignored

With the increasing awareness of national living standards and health, eugenics is getting more and more attention. However, among the various medical examinations before pregnancy, please do not neglect the examination and treatment of oral diseases. Because, the two special physiological periods of pregnancy and breastfeeding will accelerate the development of existing oral problems, and due to the restrictive nature of certain treatment examinations during this period, it will affect the health of pregnant women or mothers, and thus affect the health of the fetus and newborn. So, before pregnancy, what are the oral disorders that should be paid attention to? 1.Dental caries: During pregnancy and lactation, the diet structure has changed more or less, if you do not pay attention to oral hygiene, it will accelerate the development of caries and there is a possibility of developing into acute pulpitis or acute periapical inflammation. At this time of treatment, the patient often refuses the dental treatment because of the side effects of anesthesia and drugs; instead, he can only adopt the method of enduring pain or temporarily placing pain-relieving drugs in the cavity. 2.Gingivitis or periodontitis: First of all, it should be clear that if the gums and periodontium are healthy before pregnancy, gingivitis and periodontitis will not occur during pregnancy. If you have gingivitis before pregnancy, pregnancy due to the rise in hormone levels, and the gums are the target organ of progesterone estrogen, aggravating the original inflammatory response. The inflammation will usually begin to increase in the 3rd or 4th month of pregnancy, with edema of the gums, bleeding from brushing, biting on hard objects, or even spontaneous bleeding. In more severe cases, gestational tumors form locally, which grow rapidly and interfere with eating. After delivery, the gingival inflammation will slowly decrease to pre-pregnancy levels and the gestational tumor will be reduced. We have seen a pregnant woman who was 7.5 months pregnant with a 5*2 cm gestational tumor in the anterior region, which prevented her teeth from closing and seriously affected her eating. Finally, the treatment was abandoned because the patient was worried that the surgery triggered premature birth. 3, wisdom tooth pericoronitis: pregnancy breastfeeding period due to dietary habits change, strain, mental tension and other factors, is very easy to occur wisdom tooth pericoronitis. Because of the limitation of the type of antibiotics that can be used, the patient suffers a lot of pain and will inevitably affect the healthy development of the fetus or newborn. Therefore, before pregnancy, while conducting various health checks, the dentist has the following suggestions: 1, do a comprehensive oral examination, early filling treatment of dental caries; wisdom teeth with hidden pericoronitis, early extraction. 2.Treat gingivitis and periodontitis. 3.Accept professional oral hygiene education and master plaque control method. 4.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, don’t listen to the saying that you can’t brush your teeth and pay attention to oral hygiene.
