Plantar numbness symptoms are extremely common, and most have a good prognosis after the cause is removed.
However, in patients with longer duration, more severe symptoms, and recurrent disease, neurodegeneration may have occurred, at which point it is difficult to fully return to normal even after treatment to remove the cause.
