Are uterine nodules the same as uterine polyps

Uterine nodules are imaging findings and uterine polyps mostly refer to endometrial polyps is the name of the disease, therefore uterine nodules and uterine polyps are not the same.
Uterine nodules will appear when patients do gynecological ultrasound, MRI or CT when they have uterine fibroids, endometrial polyps, adenomyomas and so on. While endometrial polyps belong to specific diseases, the etiology is not clear, mainly related to high estrogen levels, long-term inflammatory stimulation, uterine cavity foreign body and other factors.
Patients with endometrial polyps may experience increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual periods, shortened menstrual cycles, and postmenopausal vaginal bleeding. Patients also need to follow the doctor’s instructions to use progestin drugs, such as dextroprogesterone, methinylnormone and so on. Some patients also need to be treated with hysteroscopic polypectomy and hysterectomy.
Uterine nodules and endometrial polyps are not the same, it is recommended that patients do imaging tests after the emergence of uterine nodules, need to promptly seek medical examination to clarify the diagnosis, the doctor will take appropriate measures for the cause of treatment.
