Influenza B in children is mostly characterised by vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and loss of appetite. It can be accompanied by fever, with a temperature of 39°C to 40°C, and systemic symptoms such as chills, shivering, headache, generalised muscle aches, extreme weakness and loss of appetite, as well as cough, sore throat, runny nose or nasal congestion.
The disease is contagious, so once you come into contact with a person with influenza and develop these symptoms, you need to seek prompt medical attention and isolation.
