The choice of treatment for glans bleeding after sex varies depending on the situation. Because of violent sex damaging the glans mucosa or mild lacerations of the ligament, the ligament is intact and the wound can be cleaned and pressure bandaged to stop bleeding without surgery.
If the glans is cut and bleeding rapidly due to trauma, or if the ligament is completely lacerated, surgery is required.
