Vulvar lichen planus and vulvar leukoplakia are different in terms of etiology, clinical manifestations and treatment.
1. Etiology: tinea versicolor is mainly a skin disease caused by Candida albicans infection; the cause of leukoplakia vulvae is still unclear, and it is mostly considered to be related to hormone level changes, immune function, local stimulation and other factors.
2. Clinical manifestations: patients with tinea versicolor have inflammatory flat papules, papules covered with layers of silvery-white scales and other rash manifestations, accompanied by obvious itching; patients with leukoplakia vulvae have obvious itching, and some of them may have white patches on the local skin.
3. Treatment: patients with vulvar lichen planus can follow the doctor’s instructions to use terbinafine cream, miconazole ointment and other external coating, if necessary, combined with fluconazole tablets, terbinafine tablets orally; patients with leukoplakia of the vulva can follow the doctor’s instructions to use budesonide ointment and other preparations for external coating, if necessary, can be combined with antihistamine preparations, such as loratadine, to improve the symptoms orally.
For women with vulvar itching, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital in time, complete the relevant examinations, and clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of the doctor for targeted treatment.
