Congenital tooth loss
Premature loss of baby teeth can cause the adjacent teeth in front and behind to tilt and move towards the missing teeth, eventually causing the permanent teeth to erupt without a gap and grow crooked or out of place. To prevent the gap between missing teeth from becoming smaller, a gap retainer is necessary.
The most commonly used gap retainer: a gap retainer with a ring and a wire loop.
