What’s wrong with children peeing all the time?

The first thing that should be considered in children, especially boys, is “psychogenic frequency”. It is characterized as follows: the original urination is normal, recently there is frequent urination during the day, each time the urine volume is small, or even only a few drops of urine; at night when sleeping, frequent urination disappears, the first time in the morning to urinate more; no difficulty in urination, no urinary urgency and pain. If a routine urine examination is performed, it is often normal. The appearance of psychogenic urinary frequency is related to the incomplete development of the neurological function of urinary control in children, which is similar to the desire of some adults to urinate when they are in a hurry or when they hear the faucet ringing, and is not a real pathology. Parents should take some distracting measures when their children want to urinate, such as telling stories, doing activities of interest to children, and taking drugs such as belladonna, probenecid, and baking soda internally, and the above symptoms will disappear after 1-2 weeks. If a child has urinary pain, fever, cloudy urine, difficulty in urination, urinary incontinence and abnormal urinary routine along with frequent urination, further examination is required to exclude vulvar abnormalities, urinary tract obstruction or reflux, urinary tract infection, etc.
