Can I have a filling or extraction during my period?

Fillings are routinely performed during a woman’s menstrual period, but extractions are not recommended. This is because fillings are only performed on the hard tissues of the teeth, while extractions involve an invasive operation with the risk of bleeding. Women should try to avoid bleeding during menstruation due to hormonal regulation. So it is possible to consider fillings during menstruation and try not to recommend extractions. All this, however, is only 1 relative risk, and all this is operable if the patient can tolerate it. If the patient is in particularly poor health and is in particularly bad shape during her period, it is also possible to adjust the filling slightly backwards for a period of time. This is theoretically related to the patient’s menstrual condition. For example, we can think of a filling as an ordinary brisk walk or an ordinary activity, and a tooth extraction as a strenuous activity or a run. For women during their regular holidays, ordinary activities are fine, but strenuous activities are not recommended. However, if a woman has severe menstrual cramps during her period, it is certainly not easy to do either activities or running. The same is true for fillings and extractions, which are 1 relative risk. If a woman’s physical condition is very healthy and the tooth to be extracted is very simple, and the woman has a strong will to have the tooth extracted, she can explain the situation and ask for the tooth to be extracted at this time, and the extraction doctor can make the corresponding treatment according to the patient’s situation.
