What is the meaning of Juice Drink Syndrome?

With the improvement of people’s standard of living, fruit juice has become an extremely common beverage, popular with the public. However, some children who rely too much on finished fruit juices and even replace them with drinking water are very susceptible to the modern lifestyle disease, “juice drink syndrome”. The syndrome is characterized by bulging abdomen, acidity in the mouth, tooth decay, lack of appetite, indigestion, emotional instability, irritability and irritability. The artificial coloring in some juice drinks is more harmful to human body. Because the artificial color is extracted from coal tar aniline, after entering the body, it can cause a variety of allergies, such as asthma, rhinitis, hives, skin itching, neurological headaches and behavioral disorders, and even cancer. Artificial pigment is also easy to precipitate in the immature digestive tract mucosa, interfering with the function of a variety of enzymes, hindering human metabolism and growth and development, for children prone to hyperactivity. Even qualified commercially available fruit-flavored beverages are mainly composed of VC, sugar, artificial colors, flavors and preservatives, and contain very few essential nutrients and the sugar content in juice drinks is often too high. If not controlled, it will often cause a lack of protein, fat and trace elements, which will affect growth and development, resulting in bean sprout-shaped body, weakness, or underdevelopment, or multiple diseases. In addition, carbonated beverages are also one of the common drinks nowadays, which is even more harmful compared to juice drinks. In addition to the above-mentioned ingredients, the carbonic acid contained in them will cause a certain degree of tooth corrosion, and the milk teeth of young children are not as mineralized as the permanent teeth, so they are more susceptible to the influence of acid components and form dental caries. ”Juice drink syndrome” focuses on prevention. Children should be encouraged to eat more fruits and drink more plain water, and drink less juice than 200ml per day. Especially, children under 2 years old should not drink juice drinks.
